Peter Wright struggled to find his best form this year before picking up the German Darts Championship on September 1.

Snakebite defeated Luke Littler 8-5 in the final in Hildesheim to claim his first tournament of 2024 and he looked like he could be back to his best.

During his slump in form, Peter Wright revealed he tried different unconventional techniques to try and get his form back.

Peter Wright swapped shoes to turnaround form

The two-time World Champion changed his darts and his footwear to try and regain the form that saw him reach World No. 1 status in 2022.

Talking to Weekly DartsCast, Wright said: “I always thought it would come back; form is temporary, and class is permanent. Coming back I’ve been trying different and silly stuff.

“Like different footwear so you’re a different height and different darts and weights. I like my set-up now, but I might go off them, I probably will do and try something else.”

Snakebite is famous for changing his darts frequently, a tactic that darts legend Russ Bray said hampered Wright’s career.

Wright looks to push on at the World Series

Snakebite is looking to continue his momentum in the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam on September 13 and Wright believes he’s ‘dangerous’ to the PDC tour.

The World No. 11 has a difficult opening-round game against Dave Chisnall, who picked up the Flanders Darts Trophy in Antwerp on September 8. The pair are no strangers to each other, having met in the previous two tournaments.

Wright defeated Chisnall in the German Darts Championship, while Chisnall toppled Snakebite at the Flanders Darts Trophy on his way to winning his eighth Euro Tour title.

The winner of that star-studded tie will play with Rhys Griffin or Jeff Smith in the quarter-finals of the Amsterdam event.
