Adrian Lewis is one of the most naturally talented players to ever pick up a set of tungsten.
Jackpot is a two-time World Champion for a reason. He’s an incredibly gifted player who, at his best, could beat anyone he came up against.
However, Lewis can often be his own worst enemy.
In his debut World Championship campaign, he walked off stage during a game against Peter Manley, while he’s often got himself wound up on stage when things aren’t going his way.
Back in 2018, Lewis got into an altercation with Jose Justicia during a UK Open qualifier, swearing at the Spaniard and grabbing him with some force.
For a long time, it’s been unclear as to why this incident happened.
However, now, speaking on the Club 501 Podcast with Wayne Mardle, Lewis has revealed why he got physical with Justicia.
Why Adrian Lewis kicked off with Jose Justicia
According to Lewis, this wasn’t a personal matter.
Indeed, the two-time World Champion says he took issue with Justicia because he was being rude to a member of staff on the day.
“I’ll tell you what happened going back to the me and Jose Justicia incident. He actually didn’t do anything to me, but before I went on to face this guy I heard him being rude to the porter,’ Lewis said.

What happened after the Adrian Lewis vs Jose Justicia incident
Lewis and Justicia got into quite a physical altercation, and, as you can imagine, the Darts Regulation Authority took issue with this incident.
Lewis was ultimately suspended for his scuffle with the Spaniard.
Since then, Lewis’ game has fallen off a cliff, but luckily, he is now on the comeback trail.
Indeed, Jackpot is set to play in the Modus Super Series next year, while Lewis has also hinted that he may have a go at qualifying for the 2025 World Championships.
Darts is way more entertaining when Lewis is playing at the peak of his powers, and fingers crossed he can make it back to the top of the game one day
