Two-time PDC World Champion Adrian Lewis makes shock announcement that has fans excited

Adrian Lewis has stunned fans after announcing his return to darts after a break away from the oche.

‘Jackpot’ walked away from the sport in 2023 after several difficult years where he struggled for form but did not relinquish his tour card.

He has been active on the exhibition circuit since but has not thrown a competitive dart since the spring of last year and is certain to officially lose his tour card after the 2025 World Championship.

Many fans questioned whether we would see the former world number two again, but the Stoke-on-Trent man has excited fans with his announcement yesterday.

Adrian Lewis to return to competitive darts in 2025

Lewis made a statement announcing he had signed up with Modus Sports Management – who manage Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries – revealing he will compete in the Modus Super Series next year.

Via his new management’s Facebook page, he said: “I feel refreshed and re-energised, and I’m looking forward to seeing what the future holds for me.

“I will not be rushing back to Q-School just yet, but I am not ruling it out in the future. Firstly I shall be looking to play the MODUS Super Series in 2025 as my pathway back to the Professional circuit”.

Modus Super Series commentator Matt Edgar could not contain his excitement on X after hearing the news.

Darts is a better place with Adrian Lewis

At his peak, Lewis was seen as the apparent heir to Phil Taylor.

The 39-year-old has eight majors to his name making him one of the most successful players in the history of the PDC.

His throw is often touted as the most effortless in the sport and his A-game can compete with the likes of Van Gerwen, Humphries and Luke Littler.

A break away from darts helped reinvigorate a lethargic Raymond van Barneveld a few years ago and fans would be hoping the same has happened to Lewis.

If the back-to-back World Champion can rediscover even a fraction of his form and ability of yesteryear, the PDC’s elite will have another darting powerhouse prowling the circuit in the coming years.
