In a short space of time, Luke Littler has become a global phenomenon in the darts world.

The 17-year-old exploded onto the scene when he reached the final of the World Championships at the beginning of the year and he has since picked up the Premier League title in May.

Pundits and fans have been blown away by Luke Littler’s maturity and former World Number 5, Wayne Mardle, is a huge fan of the teenager.

Wayne Mardle compares Luke Littler to four champions

On his Club 501 podcast, with guest Adrian Lewis, talk drifted towards the Premier League champion and Mardle was full of praise for Littler.

Talking about the players Littler reminded him of, Mardle said: “I see a bit of you (Adrian Lewis), I see a bit of Van Gerwen, a bit of Michael Smith and a bit of Bristow in him. He’s got everything, he’s a natural.”

All four players have won World Championships, either in the PDC or BDO, and Mardle clearly believes that Littler is on his way to emulating those men.

Luke Littler has backed up World Championship display

Luke Littler is having a stunning 2024 after bouncing back from the disappointing World Championship final defeat to Luke Humphries in January.

Littler is ruffling a few feathers in the PDC, that’s for sure.

His crowning achievement was no doubt his Premier League win in May, which saw the teenager topple two World Champions in Michael Smith and Humphries in the same night.

Littler also hit a 9-darter in the final, becoming just the second player to do so after 16-time champion Phil Taylor.

The Nuke is currently gearing up for the Australian Darts Masters which begins on August 9, and he will hope to add to his list of titles.
