The Players Championship events are an important way for players to keep their form up and gain valuable ranking points.

A series of 30 tournaments across the year, the prize money has been significantly increased for 2024 and they are taken seriously by the players on the tour.

After 19 tournaments, the best-performing player on the ProTour has been revealed and he’s only ranked No. 10 in the PDC rankings.

Ross Smith’s impressive Pro Tour stats

According to darts statistician TheRedBit on X, Ross Smith has been the most impressive player on the Pro Tour this year.

Despite only winning one Pro Tour event, that being the Players Championship 13 in Milton Keynes, Smudger has won the most prize money and he has hit the most 180s so far.

The 35-year-old has the lowest first-game losing rate and has reached more finals than everyone except Luke Littler and Damon Heta.

Ross Smith’s major tournament woes

Despite performing impressively at Pro Tour events, Smith hasn’t had the best of times at the major events.

The World No. 10 only reached the last 32 of the UK Open and the World Championship and crashed out in the last 24 of The Masters to eventual winner Stephen Bunting.

To crack into the top 5 of the rankings, Smith will be looking to replicate his Pro Tour form in the bigger televised tournaments.
