Chris Dobey ‘buzzing’ with final win
Dobey shared his delight with fans on social media after capturing his fifth title at the ranking tournament.
On X, he said: “Buzzing to get another title under my belt today, played some decent stuff over the past couple of days and it’s paid off, took an unbelievable performance from Cammy to beat me yesterday so was nice to get one back today”.
Menzies had been in terrific form at both events and he averaged 107 to beat Dobey at Players Championship 18.
Dobey upped his game in the Players Championship 19 final to secure the trophy, hitting two 13-darters and a 12-darter in consecutive legs.
Dobey claims second crown of 2024
This is Dobey’s second tournament win of the year after Hollywood picked up the Players Championship 7 in April.
Dobey hit a nine-dart finish in the event’s final against Josh Rock, who he beat 8-4 at the Leicester event.
The 2023 Masters winner is currently ranked No. 13 in the PDC rankings and recently said he needs to push on to get into the top 10 for the Premier League.
