Ross Smith narrowly lost out to Luke Littler in the first round of the World Series of Darts in Amsterdam.
Smudger had match darts in his 6-5 defeat to eventual winner Luke Littler and crashed out at the first hurdle.
Luke Littler described his performance as ‘unbeatable’ at the World Series and Smith gave him a close run game.
Smith is looking to bounce back at two Players Championship events in Wigan and has taken to social media to give his fans an update ahead of the tournaments.

Ross Smith ‘hoping to bounce back’ on PDC Pro Tour
After the disappointing defeat to Littler, Smith is looking to boost his confidence and ranking on the Pro Tour.
On X, the current World No. 10 said: “Hoping to bounce back from a tough loss in Amsterdam with some deep runs in Wigan this week. My practice has gone well.”
Smith has performed well on the Pro Tour in 2024, picking up the Players Championship 13 in July and hitting a nine-darter in the Players Championship 18 in August.
Smith’s excellent 2024 PDC form
Despite not having the tournament wins to show for it, Smith has dominated the PDC Form Guide over the summer.
In July’s Form Guide, Smith was ranked as the seventh best player with a 97.17 average and 41.10% success rate on doubles.
The following month, Smudger travelled further up the form guide reaching second position ahead of Littler and Michael van Gerwen.
Smith averaged 98.43 over 200 legs and a 40.84% double success rate over three Players Championship events in Milton Keynes during August.
The 35-year-old will be looking to replicate his summer form as he challenges for another Players Championship trophy in Wigan.
