Chris Mason shares shock at Luke Littler’s attitude before World Series of Darts Finals clash with Michael Smith

Luke Littler produced arguably his greatest-ever tournament display at the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam.

The 17-year-old defeated Ross Smith, Raymond van Barneveld, Michael van Gerwen, and Michael Smith in scintillating fashion.

He won nine legs in a row against MVG and didn’t give Bully Boy a sniff in the final with another 11-4 victory.

Despite his elite performance, Luke Littler lacks any resemblance of nerves on stage and he surprised ITV pundit Chris Mason with his demeanor off it.

Chris Mason surprised by laidback Luke Littler

Despite his immaturity and relative lack of experience on the big stages, Littler shows no signs of being overawed by the situation.

Mason spotted Littler backstage before the final and was surprised by what he saw.

On ITV’s coverage of the World Series of Darts Finals, Mason said: “I was in the player’s lounge before the final and Littler was in there and I was surprised how laid back he was.

“There was no talk of darts, he was talking about his Fantasy Football.”

Despite brushing shoulders with some of the game’s legends, Littler shows no sense of nervousness at the big occasion.

Littler’s ‘frightening’ World Series stats

After surviving a scare in the first round against Ross Smith, Littler turned on the style in Amsterdam and never looked back.

The Nuke averaged over 100 in every game at the Word Series of Darts Finals, including an eye-watering 107+ average during his destruction of MVG in his home country.

The 17-year-old hit 34 180s across 68 legs in Amsterdam, averaging a maximum every two legs.

Luke Littler described his form as ‘unbeatable’ in the Netherlands and if he finds a way of replicating it at the World Championships, The Nuke could be about to explode into the big time.
