Mike De Decker stunned the world by capturing his maiden major tournament at the World Grand Prix.
The World No. 25 defeated Dimitri Van den Bergh, James Wade, Gary Anderson, and Damon Heta before coming up against World No. 1 Luke Humphries in the final.
The Belgian beat Cool Hand 6-4 in the final at Leicester and he’s revealed he didn’t think about the title until late into the final against Humphries.

De Decker has revealed his mind only turned to the final during his match against Humphries in the World Grand Prix final.
The Belgian established a 4-1 lead in Leicester before Humphries turned on the style to tease a dramatic comeback.
Speaking to Weekly DartsCast, De Decker said: “I didn’t think about the title at all. I just wanted to perform.
“I was thinking about the title when I was 4-1 up against Luke, it was like ‘I’m close now, it’s only two more sets.’ But then Luke went on a rampage the next three sets, but I got over the line, a great feeling.”
With his first major win, many fans and pundits have called for De Decker to join the Premier League in 2025.
De Decker has revealed his answer should he be asked by the PDC to join the elite competition.
De Decker confirms his place in the Grand Slam
With his victory at the World Grand Prix, the Belgian has confirmed his spot in the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton on November 9.
De Decker joins World Champion Humphries, Masters Champion Stephen Bunting, and Premier League Champion Luke Littler in the field for the Eric Bristow trophy.
The rest of the field will be made up of 2024 European Tour Event Winners, 2024 Players Championship Event Winners, and Tour Card holder qualifiers.
