Darts is a funny game in that players can improve or fall off seemingly overnight.
Take for example, Peter Wright. Snakebite was the World Champion just three years ago, and, for most of 2024, he’s played poorly.
Now, Wright is getting back to his best, and this is all a part of the ebbs and flows of darts and any particular player’s form.
Nathan Aspinall is another player who has had a rollercoaster of a career. The Asp, once upon a time, lost his you rcard, but now, he’s a Premier League regular and a major winner.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Matthew Edgar has been discussing some players he believes can improve in the future, and he’s outlined Connor Scutt as someone he thinks can follow that same path as Nathan Aspinall.
Connor Scutt could be the next Nathan Aspinall
Edgar discussed Scutt and how far he could go in the game.
“I’ve said it before. I think this journey is very replicant of Nathan Aspinall’s. Aspinall was on the tour for two years, dropped off the tour for one year, he used the Challenge Tour, used the system, then he came back and was a million times better. I think that will happen to Connor Scutt as well when he gets his card back,” Edgar said.

Connor Scutt could be a star
Connor Scutt certainly has what it takes to make a splash on the PDC tour in the coming years.
Scutt recently showcased his ability on the Modus Super Series with a remarkable set-up shot, while he’s produced numerous exceptional feats this year.
Indeed, Scutt averaged over 120 in a Super Series game earlier this year, while in an exhibition leg of 1001 he hit four 180s.
This is a young man with bags of potential, and with a successful year on the Challenge Tour, this is a player who could ruffle a few feathers at the World Championships this year.
