Matt Edgar often sticks his neck out on the line with his predictions and his ‘one to watch’ for the Grand Slam of Darts is no different.
Edgar revealed he believes Jonny Clayton and Stephen Bunting won’t make it to the Premier League and he’s made a bold prediction about the Grand Slam of Darts.
The Wolverhampton tournament begins on November 9 and Edgar believes a player ranked outside the top 80 could have an impressive tournament.

Matt Edgar names Connor Scutt as ‘one to watch’ for Grand Slam
After Connor Scutt qualified for the Grand Slam through the Challenge Tour Order of Merit, Edgar claimed Scutt could be set for the big time.
Scutt regained his PDC Tour Card by topping the Challenge Tour and Edgar is a big fan of the 28-year-old Englishman.
Writing on X, Edgar said: “Serious talent, one to watch for sure” about Scutt, who reached the last 64 of the 2024 World Championship.
Scutt lost his PDC Tour Card after the World Championship as he was just five places outside the Top 64 with his 3-0 loss to Gerwyn Price.
Who else is set for the Grand Slam?
The 32 players for the Grand Slam have been confirmed and, as usual, it’s the most diverse line-up of the PDC calendar.
Beau Greaves will play the event for the second time after winning the World Matchplay, while Noa-Lynn van Leuven is set for her debut after finishing as runner-up in the Order of Merit.
Elsewhere, Lourence Ilagan is set for the Wolverhampton event after winning the PDC Asian Championship while Leonard Gates will play after bagging the CDC Continental Cup.
With multiple new faces, alongside top seeds such as Luke Humphries, Michael Smith, and Michael van Gerwen, the Grand Slam is always one of the most intriguing events on the tour.
