Luke Littler wants to dethrone Luke Humphries as World No. 1

Despite becoming the youngest World Darts Champion in the history of the sport, The Nuke is still eyeing up achievements on the PDC Tour.

The star wants to become World No. 1 in 2025 and he believes it’s possible due to Luke Humphries having to back up his extraordinary last two years.

Speaking to The Sun, Littler said: “Luke Humphries has a lot to defend. So, maybe I could get to world No.1 This year I’m not defending any prize money.

“We all know Luke has the capabilities to go and defend all that he won two years back. I’m hoping I can either stop him or other players do – so I can get to No.1.”

Humphries has started the year slowly by crashing out of the Dutch Darts Masters in the opening round, but the Winmau World Masters provides his first ranking test of 2025.

Humphries opens his campaign against Joe Cullen, while Littler plays Belgian thrower Andy Baetens.

Luke Littler reveals birthday plans

The Nuke recently turned 18 and he’s revealed he shunned the sport that made him an international icon for another popular game.

Littler told BBC Sport about his birthday: “I went out with my friends to bowling. I won’t be playing darts on my birthday!”
