Luke Littler has been a revelation in the PDC since his stunning arrival at the 2024 World Darts Championship, but not everyone is overly pleased with The Nuke.
The teenager won his maiden World Darts Championship by toppling Michael van Gerwen in the Ally Pally final.
Luke Littler became the youngest World Champion in history and he’s arguably the most popular darts player ever after a remarkable debut year which saw him win the Premier League and Grand Slam of Darts.
His fast-paced style of play has won him plenty of plaudits, but PDC referee Owen Binks often finds it hard to keep up with his matches.

Luke Littler’s style makes it difficult to keep up
Owen Binks has become an integral part of the PDC as both a referee and a spotter, but he’s revealed The Nuke’s constant flip-flopping of the board makes him hard to follow.
Talking to the BBC, Binks revealed “I’ve always been good at mental maths, but you need darts maths to be an expert in this field.”
He opened up about a few tricks of the trade in how referees keep count in such a fast-paced manner, but he admits he still struggles with The Nuke.
He continued: A lot of it is knowing the patterns, although you have to be on your toes for someone like Luke Littler who sprays around the board.”
Littler is yet to follow up his World Darts Championship win with another trophy, falling at the quarterfinal stage of the Bahrain Darts Masters and the semi-final of the Dutch Darts Masters.
Luke Littler opens up on Stephen Bunting defeat
The Nuke crashed out of the semi-finals at the Dutch Darts Masters by the narrowest of margins in Den Bosch.
Littler lost 7-6 in a last-leg decider and Stephen Bunting inflicted revenge on the teenager for dumping him out at the same stage of the World Darts Championship.
On X, Littler revealed: “Came down to the wire in the semis against Stephen Bunting and just missed out on another final but great darts from both of us.”
Littler will play a qualifier in his opening-round match at the Winmau World Masters on January 31.
