Luke Littler became the youngest World Darts Champion by some margin and he believes he’s got what it takes to beat a once thought unattainable record.
Luke Littler etched his name in darting history by winning his first World Championship by defeating Michael van Gerwen in the final at Alexandra Palace.
The 17-year-old made light work of Mighty Mike as he raced to a 7-3 victory to claim his third major of the year.
After his maiden World Darts Championship win, The Nuke is eyeing up Phil Taylor’s record number of World Darts Championships.

Luke Littler wants to topple Phil Taylor’s record
Taylor won a record-setting 16 World Darts Championships across the PDC and the BDO, a record many thought would never be beaten.
With Littler’s first win coming at the age of 17, there’s every chance the teenager can reach The Power’s record.
It’s something that The Nuke has thought about and he believes he has the talent to reach the required target.
Speaking to Sky Sports, The Nuke said: “Deep down, if I want to try and break the record of Phil Taylor’s then I’m sure I’ve got the ability to. If I want it, I’m sure I’ll do it. I just need to keep going.
“The calendar is stacked all year round. I’ve said in previous interviews, if I win every major title in my career I’ll be happy, but obviously I’d like to add to the world titles.”
Taylor won his first World Darts Championship in 1990 at the age of 29, so Littler already has 12 years on The Power.
Luke Littler crucifies current Manchester United squad
After Littler’s landmark win, he turned his attention to his other sporting love Manchester United as he called out some of the club’s players after their dire form.
United currently sit in 14th place under new head coach Ruben Amorim and The Nuke is far from happy with what he’s seeing on the pitch.
Asked what needs to change at the club by BBC Sport, Littler said: “Just the players. There’s some players in the club [who] are getting on a bit.
“They need to go and play somewhere else. And, obviously, we need to find the right players to fit in the squad.”
Luke Littler received a message from Manchester United legend David Beckham after his World Darts Championship win as the footballing legend sent him a four-word text to congratulate the star.
