Luke Littler shares the four-word message he received from David Beckham after winning the World Darts Championship

Luke Littler wrote his name in darts history by becoming the youngest World Champion in the history of the sport at the 2025 World Darts Championship.

The teenager became a household name when he reached the final of the 2024 tournament and his icon status has grown with each major win.

Luke Littler has won the Premier League, the Grand Slam of Darts, and the World Darts Championship since his PDC debut in 2023 and he’s become a bonafide celebrity outside of the sport.

The Nuke was the most googled sportsperson of 2024 and he’s amassed nearly two million followers on Instagram.

After he won the biggest prize in darts, David Beckham reached out to the 17-year-old to offer his congratulations.

David Beckham’s message to Luke Littler

Beckham previously reached out to Littler during his first run to the final, congratulating the teenager and sharing his fellow love of Manchester United.

After Littler’s 7-3 victory over Michael van Gerwen, the legendary footballer reached out to the famous Manchester United fan again.

Asked by 5 Live if any famous stars had wished him congratulations, Littler said: “David Beckham messaged me. That’s the biggest one. He said: ‘Well done and wow'”

Both stars are icons of British sport, with Beckham winning the Sports Personality of the Year award in 2001. Littler finished runner-up behind Keely Hodgkinson in 2024.

Luke Littler reveals first post-World Championship purchase

With his first-ever World Darts Championship win, Littler has found himself £500,000 richer and he’s revealed what he’s going to spend the money on.

At 17, The Nuke is just old enough to learn how to drive and he’s eyeing up his first car to take driving lessons in.

Speaking the after the final at the post-match press conference, Littler said: “Last year I was looking at driving and I loved the Ford Focus, but now I’ve gone up in the world just a little.”

“I’ve always loved a Mercedes A-Class. Just a small car.”

Littler’s next potential tournament is at the Bahrain Darts Masters on January 16. The tournament was won by The Nuke last year and also saw the 17-year-old hit a nine-darter.
