Gerwyn Price reached the semi-finals of the Pro Tour for the first time in 2024 during the Players Championships 20.

The Iceman defeated Cameron Menzies, who has been in red-hot form, in the quarter-finals before succumbing to Stephen Bunting 7-5 in the semi-finals.

Gerwyn Price took to social media to share his thoughts and make a confident prediction heading into the final part of the season.

‘I’m on my way back’, says Gerwyn Price after Stephen Bunting defeat

Despite exiting the competition, Price remains upbeat about his chances in future events and has put the rest of the PDC on notice.

Taking to Instagram stories, the World No. 7 said: “Gutted to lose that game there, really felt like today was my day. Take the wins while you can lads, I’m on my way back.”

Despite The Iceman’s positive attitude, the former World Champion was defeated 6-3 by Damon Heta at the Players Championship 21 in Wigan.

Price’s change in attitude is refreshing

Considering the retirement talk last month, Price’s upbeat nature after defeat is good to see. The Iceman said he would be happy to leave darts should he drop out of the rankings.

Talking to Online Darts, he said: “I’m sort of in the mindset now that, I’ll turn up and play in whatever events I’m in and if I’m not in them, I don’t really care.

“I’ve built a platform so to speak, for me to just do what I want to do. If I fall outside the top 64 and finish darts tomorrow, I really don’t care. I’m just going to start enjoying darts now, turn up when I want to turn up and when I have to turn up.

“I think, in previous years, it’s been darts first and family life after but that’s going to change now.”

This led to some talk that Price would step away from the sport, but it looks as if he might have found that extra spark from somewhere to continue.
