Gerwyn Price says he’s feeling something he’s never felt before during his PDC career

Gerwyn Price successfully navigated his way to the Australian Darts Masters quarterfinals in straightforward fashion but the Welshman has admitted he’s struggling Down Under.

The Iceman beat Brenton Lloyd 6-2 in his opening round clash to set up a tantalising match with hometown favourite Damon Heta in Wollongong.

The former World Championship winner has struggled with form this season and now he has something else to worry about.

Gerwyn Price is ‘absolutely shattered’ in Australia

The World No. 6 said it took him 43 hours to reach Wollongong and he’s struggling to deal with the jet lag.

Talking to Online Darts after his win over Lloyd, Price said: “I couldn’t be any flatter than what I am now. I’m absolutely shattered.

“I’m glad to get through that one and hopefully, you know, a good night’s sleep tonight and hopefully be a bit better tomorrow”

This is the last thing Price needs after a downturn in form in his last four tournaments has seen him crash out in the last 32 or earlier.

Gerwyn Price’s dip in form

Price has struggled to find his best form in 2024, winning just one title and only making two other finals. The 39-year-old has previously disclosed what’s frustrated him the most about his game this season.

The silver lining for the Welshman at the Australian event is his form has been generally good at World Series events.

Price reached two semi-finals in Bahrain and the Netherlands and finished runner-up in the United States, before claiming his first title of the year at the Nordic Darts Masters in June.

Price is looking to add to his four World Series wins in Wollongong, and a win in Australia would put him level with Luke Littler for World Series wins in 2024.
