Australian darts star Damon Heta had to make a lot of sacrifices to join the darts elite in the PDC.
The current Australian No.1 had to move his family over to the UK to kickstart his darts journey and he recently revealed the one thing that would make him quit the game.
Moving to the other side of the world was a big change for The Heat and the UK Open semi-finalist has been speaking about the big differences between the Australian and UK game.

Damon Heta astonished by UK darts
Heta won a two-year PDC Tour Card by finishing fourth on the UK Q-School Order of Merit back in 2020 and he’s been talking about his experiences of breaking into UK darts.
Speaking to DartStream Live, Heta said: “I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into, especially at Q-School. That was a massive eye-opener. Going to the UK in general and the darts scene, it’s massive.
“I went to every local comp I could find, I’d drive a couple of hours here or there, even in local comps, the amount of money and the amount of people there.
“I drove to Great Yarmouth and there was like 500 people there, 60 to 80 boards set up. I’d never seen anything like this.”
It’s been a monumental rise for the Australian since those days, with The Heat currently in the top 10 of the PDC rankings.
The Heat is sizzling on the world stage
Heta has reached two semi-finals this year, at the UK Open and the European Darts Open, and picked up a win on the Pro Tour too.
The Australian has comfortably become one of the world’s very best and he’ll be looking to add to his 2019 Brisbane Darts Masters and 2022 World Cup of Darts honours in the latter part of the year.
Heta has been one of the PDC’s real breakout stars in recent years, that’s for sure.
The Heat will be taking part in the New Zealand Darts Masters on 16-17 August, a tournament in which he was a quarterfinalist last year.
