Gary Anderson rolled back the years against Luke Littler as the 53-year-old taught the teenager a lesson in the Grand Slam of Darts semi-final.

Both players were in imperious form in the semi-final of the Wolverhampton event, both averaging over 105 in an extremely impressive showcase of elite darts.

Despite both players high scoring, Anderson took control of the game after going 7-4 down to The Nuke.

The Flying Scotsman won seven legs in a row to turn the game around and take an 11-4 lead against the 17-year-old.

The run of dominance included three 100+ checkouts as Anderson put himself within touching distance of his third Grand Slam final.

Darts fans react to ‘stunning’ Anderson fight back

This was the first meeting between Anderson and Littler and it didn’t disappoint with both men showing their quality in the best of 31 encounter.

Despite Littler’s usual quality, Anderson managed to stifle The Nuke with a stunning seven-leg run and fans were blown away.

On X, one fan wrote: “No better sight than Gary Anderson in full flow, rolling back the years!” while another said: “Gary Anderson at his best has always been a pleasure to watch throw darts.”

Another wrote: “Vintage Gary Anderson here” while one said: “Gary Anderson is on absolute fire today!”.

The winner between Anderson and Littler will play Martin Lukeman in the final of the Wolverhampton event.

Gary Anderson is doing it for the old guard

With the likes of Peter Wright in free fall, and Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price failing to qualify, the Grand Slam of Darts looked like a changing of the guard in the game.

Except, of course, Anderson, who has found some of his best-ever form in Wolverhampton. The Flying Scotsman dispatched hotshot Gian Van Veen in the quarterfinals and went head-to-head with Littler for long stretches of the semi-final.

Anderson has been in sublime form during the Grand Slam of Darts and has proved he’s still one of the elite players on the tour.
