Luke Littler comfortably beat Rob Modra 6-2 in his opening match at the Australian Darts Masters, but the 17-year-old suggested there was room for improvement.
Littler is playing in Australia for the first time and is one of the marquee players at the tournament this year, after reaching the World Championships final and winning the Premier League in 2024.
The 17-year-old has also won two World Series events this year and he wasn’t troubled by Australian Modra, but he wasn’t entirely happy with his display.

Luke Littler needs more practice
While Littler was happy to reach the next round, he suggested he would need to practice more to reach the latter stages of the tournament.
Littler told ITV: “I felt like I played well in patches, but I think I could’ve been a lot better. I don’t think it was nerves, just a lack of practice.
“Like I said, I dragged myself over the line and I can go again tomorrow, I just need to practice. I need to practice more than I have been doing.”
Littler’s win means he sets up a clash with former World Champion and World No. 2 Michael Smith on Saturday.
Lack of practice isn’t hampering Littler’s form
Littler recently picked up his seventh PDC title by winning the Players Championships in Milton Keynes at the end of July.
The teenager defeated Boris Krcmar, Pascal Rupprecht, Chris Dobey and Wessel Nijman on his way to claiming another title.
Littler is still playing brilliantly, in fact, there are only four players in the PDC currently in better form.
His seventh title swiftly followed the teenager’s disappointing first-round to Michael Van Gerwen at the World Matchplay.
Littler has a lot to play for at the Australian event, as he looks to win yet another TV title and add to his incredible prize money haul this year.
