Indeed, as well as being perhaps the best player on tour, Aspinall says that Humphries is also one of the nicest players in the game away from the oche.

“Luke is amazing. I keep saying it in my interviews that he’s the best player on the planet. Honest to God, you have no idea what a nice guy he is off the oche, and we’re good friends.” Aspinall said.

Humphries’ story is incredibly inspiring, through his weight loss and mental health battles that almost saw him quit the game, he’s become a World Champion, and, as Aspinall says, perhaps the best player on the planet.
Darts players can often come across as being rather moody in their interviews, especially after a loss, but Humphries is always a shining example of sportsmanship and professionalism as he showed in his gracious interview after his defeat in the Premier League final.
Humphries is genuinely one of darts’ good guys, and he’s someone who fans should find it very easy to get behind in years to come.
