Darts has become more than just a sport with the walk-on part of the razzmatazz that the PDC along with Sky Sports have created to make the game the global spectacle that it is in the modern era.
Songs have become a brilliant way for fans to have a relationship with players in recent times. Some stars have even changed their walk-on music in recent times, with Rob Cross, Luke Humphries and Dimitri Van Den Burgh all making swaps.
For some of the more social darts fans, the walk-ons are the best bit of going to an event. A good song can really make or break how they feel towards a player and in Michael van Gerwen’s case, fans often sing his song to him during matches.
Luke Littler has taken darts by storm over the last 12 months or so. He reached the World Darts Championship final in 2024 before going one better last month to actually lift the trophy at the age of just 17-years-old.

What is Luke Littler’s walk-on music and the reason for it
It’s a divided opinion among darts fans but Littler currently walks onto the stage with Pitbull classic Greenlight blaring out, with Flo Rida and Lunchmoney Lewis also featuring on the hit single.
It’s a song that Littler has loved since his days as a child. Back then, he enjoyed what most other children did and was an avid follower of the WWE, attending Wrestlemania with his dad at the age of 10.
It was whilst watching sports entertainment’s biggest spectacle that he picked his walk-on song – provided, of course, he eventually made it onto the grandest stage in the world of darts.
He told JaackMaate Happy Hour podcast last year: “Me and my dad went to Wrestlemania 33 seven years ago now and it was in Florida, Orlando, it was my first time being there and it was just a good song.
“I was signing my head off as a 10-year-old and whenever I did make it, I was still playing football at the time, that’s going to be my walk-on song. For the time being, I will keep it, I haven’t even thought about using other songs.”
The World Ranking spot held by Luke Littler
Despite winning the World Darts Championship last month, Littler doesn’t yet sit at the pinnacle of the sport and hold the world number one ranking – which comes as a surprise to many.
However, Humphries was so dominant last season that he holds the position as the world number one and the man who won the World Darts Masters last weekend is very much the man to beat.
Littler is on the case to topple him at the top of the charts though. He sits at number two in the rankings with the man he beat in the World Championship final, Van Gerwen, a place behind in third place.
It’s difficult to say when Littler will take the spot at number one, with Humphries playing so well at the moment. However, the sport is in very healthy shape with competition sky-high in the world of darts following the emergence of Littler.
