Darts pundit Wayne Mardle has dropped ‘special’ praise for Beau Greaves as she made history last night.
Darts is a sport that has grown even bigger in recent months and has begun to attract the younger generation.
Since teenage sensation Luke Littler truly announced his name to the darting world by reaching the 2024 World Championship final, the 17-year-old has inspired younger players to step onto the oche.
Littler has since taken the Premier League by storm and on Thursday, he recorded his third nightly win in Liverpool to extend his lead at the top to five points and silence those who booed him on stage.
Similarly to the emergence of Littler in the men’s game, Beau Greaves is pioneering the sport in the women’s game.
The 2023 Women’s World Darts champion currently tops the order of merit and recorded her first women’s series title of the year last week, thrashing Fallon Sherrock 5-0 in the final and not dropping a single leg in the tournament.
The 20-year-old’s rise towards darting stardom has been irrepressible and last night, she threw the highest female average ever.

Wayne Mardle lauds Beau Greaves as ‘special’ for record average
‘Beau ‘n’ Arrow’ impressed in the MODUS Super Series on Thursday and Friday night. She claimed victory in all of her matches against Adam Lipscombe, Sebastian Bialecki, Kevin Painter and Rob Collins.
Having secured eight wins from eight matches, the Englishwoman easily secured her passage into finals night, playing her best match against former World Darts Championship finalist Painter.
Greaves managed to beat the 56-year-old 4-1 thanks to an impressive record average of 114.56 which sparked widespread reaction on social media, including from darts pundit Wayne Mardle.
Reacting to her incredible performance via X, Mardle wrote:
The world of darts is in good hands
Littler and Greaves have single-handedly inspired a new generation of darts players. The talent just seems to get better year-on-year, with Mardle even claiming Littler is better than Michael van Gerwen was at 17.
While ‘Luke the Nuke’ has just asserted his dominance on the men’s game, Greaves has dominated the Women’s Series for years, claiming 22 titles in her last 40 tournaments.
If she can continue producing that level of performance, she will take even more scalps in the men’s game and that will only be good for the sport.
A 114 average is simply ridiculous, and it’s scoring power that some of the best in the game dream of reaching.
