The PDC World Cup of Darts gets underway this weekend and one of the top seeds has been dealt a huge blow today.
The World Cup is now a pairs tournament and this year will see Wales defend their crown in Frankfurt.
Last year Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton thrashed the duo of Gary Anderson and Peter Wright 10-2 in the final.
It was a final that should have promised so much more but Clayton and Price just proved too strong for their opponents.
Now, Wales have been dealt a hammer blow to their aspirations of winning the title for a third title.
It’s not good news and a late change has been forced to the line-up.

Gerwyn Price pulls out of World Cup of Darts
This is not good news for the Welsh and hopefully, Price can bounce back after withdrawing due to health reasons.
Many Wales supporters took to X to voice their feelings on the decision made by Price.
One fan wrote: “Now way. Does anyone know why? We got no chance without Gezzy.”
Another was equally frustrated and said: “There goes our chances then.
Someone else showed sympathy with the player, saying: “Price’s health is more important.”
Finally, someone else simply posted the word, “Damn”.
Wales hopes severely dented with Gerwyn Price ruled out
Price is going to be replaced by Jim Williams who is ranked at number 44 in the world.
That naturally makes it extremely difficult for Wales to now defend their crown with Price the kind of player who raises his game for these occasions.
Still, Williams can play ultimately and he will certainly have to bring his a-game in Germany.
Wales will remain the second seed at this tournament despite the absence of Price meaning they will be seeded through to the second round.
It would now be a big shock if Wales were to win the World Cup this weekend and other teams might be buoyed by the absence of Price.
