Luke Littler is gearing up to begin his World Darts Championship campaign as he looks to go one better than last year when he reached the final.
The teenage sensation stunned the sporting world by decimating the field and setting up a final with eventual winner Luke Humphries.
He couldn’t grab the Sid Waddell Trophy at last year’s tournament but he’s once again among the frontrunners this time around.
Ryan Meikle will be his opponent during his first match after the English player defeated Fallon Sherrock in a very entertaining first-round match.
Ahead of his tournament getting underway, he’s received some words of encouragement from a somewhat unlikely source who will also be aiming to make headlines this weekend.

What advice Tyson Fury has offered Luke Littler
It’s an unlikely tag team if ever we’ve seen one but ahead of his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, Fury has found time to send Littler some advice.
Speaking on TikTok, the former World Champion boxer said: “My advice to any sports star would be, save your few quid and invest it wisely because it’s not a long career and there’s plenty of life after your job.
“If you end up brassic you’ve done it wrong. Invest it wisely, get good people around you, get a good lawyer, a good person, a good manager or whoever is looking after you because that’s the most important thing.
“It’s a long life after it’s finished. Whatever game it is, darts or anything really.”
Littler aiming to win maiden World Darts Championship
The 2024 campaign was wonderful for Littler and it’s fair to say that he burst onto the scene quite like nobody anticipated.
He’s won a number of titles and his all-action style has people all over the world interested in darts all of a sudden.
| Luke Littler titles in 2024 | Final Opponent |
| Bahrain Darts Masters | Michael van Gerwen |
| Poland Darts Masters | Rob Cross |
| Premier League | Luke Humphries |
| World Series of Darts Finals | Michael Smith |
| Grand Slam of Darts | Martin Lukeman |
Littler is set to meet Humphries in this year’s semi-final and that is a bit of a shame that we won’t get to see a repeat of the final last year.
However, whenever Littler is up on that stage he will captivate an audience and it would take a very brave man to bet against him claiming a first world crown at the start of next year.
