Noa-Lynn van Leuven calls out women’s tour

van Leuven has claimed she earned her place on merit through hard work and hours on the oche, which she claims few women on the tour do.

Speaking to Dutch outlet Nu, van Leuven said: “They secretly tell me that they don’t understand the commotion.

“But there are a lot of conservative, toxic b*****s on the women’s tour. They see me as a threat.

“It’s a matter of putting money and hours into it. Not many women do that, but I do. I’ve proven I can win over men, too.”

The Dutchwoman claimed her fourth Women’s Series event by beating Beau Greaves with a 109.64 average in the final.

Diversity makes the World Championship exciting

Women joining the World Championships is not a surprise in the darting world these days, with Fallon Sherrock and Mikuru Suzuki appearing over the last few years.

There is no reason why worthy women shouldn’t be invited to play at the World Championship and Sherrock proved she can go toe-to-toe with the men in 2019.

van Leuven will stand on the Alexandra Palace stage on merit and she should be embraced by the tour and fans on her debut at the World Championships.
