Luke Littler was back in action on Friday night in the Poland Darts Masters.
The Nuke had a week off last week as he missed the Nordic Masters to enjoy a holiday in Orlando with his family.
The Premier League champion was back on the oche on Friday, and he was immediately back to winning ways with a 6-4 win over Adam Gawlas in Poland.
Speaking to Online Darts after the game, Littler has been discussing what it was like to play in this competition for the first time, and he says that he was surprised by how many fans were in the arena and just how lively the crowd was.
Luke Littler surprised by Polish crowd
The 17-year-old spoke about playing in front of this capacity crowd at the PreZero Arena.
“I didn’t expect it. It was like playing in the Premier League with how big it was and we’re expecting a packed out arena tomorrow night. So it should be good,” Littler said.
“I was surprised. I didn’t know how many people would be here tonight and I know there will be about 10,000 tomorrow. I just love playing in front of the fans in these big arenas.”

Darts is growing
It’s amazing to see such huge crowds at events like this.
Darts continues to grow as a sport, and while many of the major events take place in the UK, the following on the continent shouldn’t be underestimated.
There’s plenty of scope for the PDC to grow further afield and host more competitions in Europe, and perhaps Poland could be a potential destination for a bigger tournament.
The Grand Prix doesn’t feel as though it’s truly at home in Leicester, so perhaps that competition could be opened up to a move to a European nation or perhaps it could be a roaming tournament that is played at a different venue every year.
The growth of darts on the continent is certainly exciting and the Poland Darts Masters is just one example of how popular the sport is becoming in Europe.
