Ritchie Edhouse’s European Championship triumph was one of the stories of the year as the 41-year-old picked up his first major trophy.
It was a tournament of shocks, with all the big names crashing out at the quarterfinal stages or earlier with Edhouse, Luke Woodhouse, Jermaine Wattimena, and Danny Noppert in the final four.
Ritchie Edhouse put his name in the hat for The Premier League by writing his name in darting history and he ingratiated himself with fans and the rest of the tour.

Luke Littler congratulated Ritchie Edhouse on Euro win
Fans were thrilled with a brand-new major winner in Germany and it appears the rest of the players were too, including the most famous name on the tour.
Speaking to Weekly DartsCast, Edhouse was asked who reached up to him after his win. He said “I haven’t got through them all yet.
I’m slowly getting there. To be fair, probably one of the shocks was Mr. Luke Littler.”
Divulging what was said, Edhouse revealed a tongue-in-cheek question he fired back to The Nuke.
He said: “He was nice. He text me saying well done. And I was like, how do you do this all the time?”
Edhouse is currently ranked World No. 29 after his exploits at the European Championship.
