Raymond van Barneveld has sent Simon Whitlock words of encouragement as he looks to regain his PDC Tour Card.

The Australian icon lost his Tour Card in 2024 after three years straight on the PDC Tour, but a U-turn in form caused The Wizard to plummet down the rankings.

The 2012 European Champion currently sits at World No. 69 and has been forced to attend PDC’s Q-School to try and regain his Tour Card.

Raymond van Barneveld shares good wishes to Simon Whitlock

A 6-3 defeat to James Howard Hughes saw Whitlock’s hopes of a Tour Card end for January 9, but the Aussie will be back over the coming days to try and navigate the tricky qualifying system.

Whitlock has some stirring words from 2007 World Darts Champion van Barneveld who shared a message with The Wizard on social media.

As Whitlock said: “I’ll give it everything to get my Tour Card straight back” On X, Barney wrote some words of encouragement to his former tour rival.

He said: “Good luck pal, you can do it” ahead of Whitlock’s first attempt at getting his Tour Card back the first time of asking.

As well as Whitlock, John Henderson, and Fallon Sherrock also saw their day at Q-School end in disappointment.

Who else is competing at PDC’s Q-School?

As well as The Wizard, Henderson, and Sherrock, Q-School is arguably as star-studded as it’s ever been in 2025.

Three-time Women’s World Champion Beau Greaves is competing for a Tour Card, while World Darts Championship semi-finalist Mervyn King at Milton Keynes for the first-time since 2011.

Elsewhere, World Grand Prix semi-finalist Richie Burnett and former World No. 18 Scott Mitchell are looking for a Tour Card.
