Darting phenomenon Phil Taylor has just revealed what it would take for him to play Premier League champion, Luke Littler.
Is there anything Luke Littler can’t do? The 17-year-old produced a stunning nine-dart finish in the Premier League final on his way to dismantling world champion Luke Humphries 11-7.
It’s incredible to think that this was Litter’s first-ever Premier League campaign and many questioned his involvement having only just emerged onto the PDC circuit.
Luke ‘The Nuke’ earned his place in the prestigious darting competition after piecing together a stunning run to the World Championship Final on debut where he lost to Humphries.
The teenager would get his revenge at the O2 to win his first major PDC title and now arguably the greatest player of all time, Phil Taylor, has revealed what it would take for him to play Littler.

Phil Taylor says what it would take for him to play Luke Littler
Littler is threatening to dominate the sport for years to come, just like Taylor did for decades.
The ‘Power’ walked away from the sport in 2018 after winning 16 World Championship titles but returned to competitive darts in 2022 and will now retire at the end of the 2024 season.
Taylor is the most decorated darts player of all time and while it looks impossible for anyone to beat his 16 world final triumphs – if anyone can beat that record – it’s Littler.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the 64-year-old has now said there’s only one way he’d play the teenager.
“I’d play him in an exhibition, yeah. One leg of 301, I go first!”
Taylor is far from his best these days but the fact he’s said that just proves how feared the darting phenom is.
Prime Taylor vs Luke Littler would be some watch
There is a real chance that Littler and Taylor play against each other in an exhibition however, watching a prime Phil Taylor against the teenager would have been a fascinating watch.
Taylor returning to the peak of his powers against a man currently on top of the darting world would have had millions of people tuning in.
Whilst the popularity of the sport is growing rapidly, this would arguably be the most watched darts match ever, accelerating viewership even further.
Sadly, with Taylor now close to fully retiring from the sport and far from his peak, we’ll never get the matchup that the sport deserves, but it would be nice to see how the veteran fares against the new kid on the block.
