Peter Wright is one of the most outspoken players on the PDC Tour and he’s conjured up a wild theory about Luke Humphries and Luke Littler at the Bahrain Darts Masters.

The Scottish thrower got under Michael van Gerwen’s skin at the World Darts Championship with his post-match interviews.

van Gerwen suggested Peter Wright spoke ‘c***’ at Ally Pally and Snakebite has continued his controversial diatribe heading into the first World Series of Darts event of the year.

Wright suggested both Luke Littler and Luke Humphries could struggle at the Sakhir event for a strange reason.

‘Short format’ could lead to Luke Humphries and Luke Littler struggles

Wright heads over to Bahrain as a replacement for van Gerwen who can’t make the trip due to family commitments.

Wright is relishing performing at the World Series after an impressive World Darts Championship which saw him topple Humphries.

Wright has started the mind games early over the two favourites for the tournament and suggested the format of the tournament could see them crash out early.

Speaking ahead of the event, via The Sun, Snakebite shared his excitement as being a last-minute entry to the tournament.

“I’m looking forward to the Bahrain Masters,” said Wright. “At least with the short format, we know the two Lukes will be knocked out early because it takes time for them to warm up.”

The Bahrain Darts Masters kicks off on January 16 and culminates a day later. Wright plays Alexis Toylo, Humphries clashes with Abdulla Saeed, and Littler opens his campaign against Lourence Ilagan.

PDC Tour ‘all wanted’ Luke Littler to win, claims Peter Wright

Despite his mind games with The Nuke heading into the Middle East, Wright has claimed he and the rest of the tour wanted Littler to win the World Darts Championship.

Wright said: “It would have been nice for Michael to win a fourth world championship. But we all wanted Littler to win really to expand the game even more.

The right person won. It’s great for the sport. Luke is obviously very good. But he’s got to get more consistent. He’s not one of the best yet. But he’s obviously got the potential to be.”

Littler defends his Bahrain Darts Masters crown after winning the 2024 edition of the competition. The Nuke also hit a nine-darter in Sakhir 12 months ago.
