Stephen Bunting’s popularity has exploded over the past 18 months, and it’s had a positive impact on his form.
The St Helens man has competed in the Premier League before but finished a disappointing eighth place in 2015.
Bunting has seen a surge in form since the start of last year and he lifted his first major trophy at the Masters in February, beating Michael van Gerwen in the final.
‘The Bullet’ believes his game is now in a place to allow him to compete with the PDC’s elite.

Stephen Bunting wants Premier League return
The Premier League is an unforgiving beast that can do more harm than good.
Peter Wright has endured two miserable campaigns which has affected the former two-time World Champion’s confidence.
Bunting is not afraid of the gruelling nature of the tournament though.
Speaking to the Weekly Dartscast, the 39-year-old revealed he is ready to return to the line-up after a decade of absence.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve been in it but I believe I’m playing well enough again to be mentioned over the past few years. I’d love to be back in it, it’s the biggest one for me apart from the Matchplay and the Worlds. I would love to be a part of it.”
Stephen Bunting is exactly what the Premier League needs
The Premier League is designed to showcase the best the PDC have to offer, and Bunting has proved his worth.
He lights up every arena he steps in with his incredible walk-on and the atmosphere he generates is exactly what the tournament craves.
The Masters Champion is also producing the goods on the oche, forcing his rival players to step up if he is to be overlooked for a spot.
There are a lot of darts to be played between now and 2025 but if ‘The Bullet’ continues to do the business on the board, we can expect 16 weeks of ‘Let’s Go Bunting Mental’ next year.
