Luke Littler might just be the best darts player on the planet right now.
The teenage sensation lit up Alexandra Palace at the World Championships over the festive period and he’s absolutely dominated the Premier League as of late.
However, speaking on The Darts Show (Sky Sports Action (2/5/24 6:30PM), Littler has stated that he doesn’t believe he is the best player in the world.
Indeed. The 17-year-old has named two of his biggest rivals as the best in the game right now.

Like Littler names the best players in the world
The youngster spoke about his budding rivalry with Luke Humphries, claiming that Cool Hand Luke and Michael van Gerwen are the two best players in the world.
“He’s the better player and I will always play my best darts or try my best against Luke or Michael van Gerwen who I believe are the two best players in the world at the minute,” Littler said.
Luke Littler is getting there
It’s hard to argue against Humphries and MVG being the two best players on the planet right now.
Humphries is, of course, the reigning world champion. While, on his day MVG may be the most dominant force in darting history.
Littler is well on his way to reaching that sort of level though, and, at the age of just 17, he has so much time on his side.
As things stand, Van Gerwen and Humphries probably are the best players on the planet, but Littler is very much working his way into that conversation.
Make no mistake about it. Littler is the future of this sport.
