Luke Littler has shared what David Beckham said to him after he lost in the World Championship final in January.

The 17-year-old has been busy taking the world of darts by storm.

Littler defied the odds by reaching the World Championship final earlier this year – before losing to Luke Humphries.

Just weeks after losing that final he won the Bahrain Masters shown live on ITV and last week he won the Premier League.

It’s quite remarkable what he’s achieved so far in his career and the money is rising in his bank account.

Now, with the New York Masters set to get underway, Littler has been interviewed on a number of different things.

One question was put to him about the World Championship performance and he shared what David Beckham said to him after it.

Luke Litter shares what David Beckham messaged him

After taking the darting world by storm at the Alexandra Palace in January, people started to notice the teenager.

At that point, he was only 16 and it was quite remarkable what he almost achieved on the night.

Littler got revenge on Humphries last week in the Premier League final and the pair well likely do battle a number of times in the future.

It was the World Championship that piqued the interest of Beckham though and Littler has shared what he said afterwards.

He told the MMA Hour: “He sent me a message saying well done on the World Championships and once a red always a red.

“It was just like it was Beckham. He was a bit before my time though.”

Littler is going to be sporting sensation

It’s getting ridiculous to see Littler defy the odds at every tournament and beat established professionals.

He’s set for world stardom and he could dominate the sport in the years to come.

Littler is breathtaking at the oche and he doesn’t appear to be showing any signs of letting up at the moment.

It’s quite remarkable that people like Beckham are messaging the teenager and he will know about being in the limelight as a youngster.

The former England captain was another who achieved success at a young age and he will understand the pressures that go with that.

Littler looks to have the world in his arrows right now and it’s fascinating to see what he can achieve in the next few years.
