The World Darts Championship is mere days away and Luke Littler is looking to go one better than his final appearance last year.

The 17-year-old has had a superb 2024, winning the Premier League, the World Series Finals, and the Grand Slam of Darts in his debut year.

Luke Littler has every chance to claim the World Darts Championship at the second time of asking and he’s revealed the advice given to him by 16-time winner Phil Taylor.

Phil Taylor told Luke Littler to distance himself from the tour

After the successes of his debut year, Littler revealed a dinner he had with Taylor where he offered up a key piece of advice.

In an interview with The Telegraph, The Nuke said: “As soon as he walked in, me and my mum were, ‘What is going on!?’

“Sat down having a meal with Phil Taylor! It was good. He was telling me some of the stories on tour, [about] some of the players.

“He was saying, ‘Just keep yourself to yourself. The least you interact with people, the harder it is for them. Don’t need to talk to anyone’.”

The Nuke’s first match at Alexandra Palace will be against either Ryan Meikle or ‘Queen of the Palace’ Fallon Sherrock.

Who could Luke Littler play at the World Darts Championship?

Littler has been handed a tough draw at Alexandra Palace and will need to be at the peak of his powers if he wants to win the biggest trophy in darts.

There will be no repeat of last year’s final as The Nuke is set to play Luke Humphries in the semi-final of this year’s event rather than the final two.

The path to Cool Hand isn’t any easy as the 17-year-old could face up to three other major winners on his path to the final four.

Former World Champion Rob Cross could be Littler’s final eight opponent, with European Champion Ritchie Edhouse a potential for the third round, and former UK Open champion Danny Noppert lined up for the fourth round.
