Joe Cullen looked back to his best as he dismantled Wessel Nijman with a resounding 3-0 victory, but fans were not happy with his post-match interview.
Cullen went into the match as the underdog despite being the seeded player in the tie, but he was impressive against Nijman.
After his victory, Cullen spoke to the Sky cameras on stage and offered monosyllabic responses in an awkward interview and fans have dubbed The Rockstar as ‘rude’.

Fans unhappy with Joe Cullen’s post-match interview
Cullen had every reason to celebrate after his resounding victory, but he showed no signs of happiness despite setting up a third-round clash with Gerwyn Price after Christmas.
Cullen offered one-word responses and clearly looked unhappy and fans were not happy with the interview.
On X, one fan wrote: “No need for that from Joe Cullen to the interviewer there, poor form after a great performance.” while another said: “Shocking interview by Joe Cullen!”
Another said: “Love Joe Cullen, but thought he let himself down a bit there.” while one wrote: “Oh my. Joe Cullen didn’t really want to do that interview on stage!”
Cullen vs Price is in section three of the World Darts Championship draw, alongside the likes of Florian Hempel, Josh Rock, and Jonny Clayton.

It’s been a tough 2024 for Joe Cullen, but he showed the kind of form that won the stars the Masters in 2022 at the World Darts Championship.
An average of 98.18 and an impressive 40.9% on doubles meant he swept aside many fans’ dark horse for the event in Nijman.
If Cullen can bottle up his unhappiness at being overlooked into the tournament and create more dangerous spells, the Rockstar could be in for an impressive tournament.
