James Wade defeated Maik Kuivenhoven at the German Championship to set up a clash in the last 32 against Michael van Gerwen.

The two icons of the sport will collide at the Hildesheim event and Wade is confident he can get a result against the three-time champion of the world.

Wade has taken to social media to share his feelings in anticipation of the gigantic match.

James Wade to ‘turn the tables’ against Michael van Gerwen

Wade is known to be outspoken, both on social media and in press conferences, and told his followers that he’s confident heading into his clash with the Dutchman.

On X, Wade said: “It’s time to turn the tables. Tonight I have my show down with MVG. Things have not gone my way of late when we have played each other.

“However, I have not felt as good in my game for a while as I do now. So as they say! Time to turn the tables. Wish me luck.”

The pair last met in the Premier League when van Gerwen defeated The Machine 10-4.

Mr Consistent could topple Mighty Mike

James Wade is arguably the most consistent player on the tour. The current World No. 18 made his debut in the sport over two decades and has picked up ten PDC televised titles.

The Machine is arguably the greatest player to never win the World Championships, having made it to the semi-finals on four occasions.

If he can reach the form he is capable of, there’s every chance he can defeat van Gerwen in Germany.
