Luke Humphries may well be the best darts player on the planet.
World Champion, World number one and almost a Premier League winner, there really isn’t much that Humphries hasn’t done in the game over the past 12 months.
Humphries has been in immense form as of late, and, interestingly, speaking on Club 501, Wayne Mardle has claimed that he’s noticed a change in Humphries in recent weeks.
Humphries has recently changed his walk-on song from Cake by the Ocean by DNCE to I Predict a Riot by Kaiser Chiefs, and it’s fair to say that fans are much more on board with his current song than his old theme.
Mardle was speaking to Stephen Bunting about the effect a walk-on change can have, and he says that he’s noticed a change in Humphries since he has switched song.

The change Wayne Mardle has noticed in Luke Humphries
The pundit spoke to Bunting about Humphries’ recent change.
“You’ve changed your walk on from the Family Guy ‘bird is the word’ song, which was pathetic by the way, to Titanium, has that made a difference?” Mardle asked.
I’ve noticed a difference in Luke Humphries since he’s changed from the dull tune he used to have.”
Luke Humphries didn’t need to change
Mardle says that he’s noticed a change in Humphries, but it may not be a change for the better.
Indeed, the Englishman was winning almost every tournament he played in towards the end of last year, but since changing his walk-on, he’s not won on the big stage.
Of course, form always comes and goes in darts, but there may be something more to this.
Humphries’ new walk-on does seem to have himself and his fans more fired up, and perhaps that added bit of passion is throwing his game off ever so slightly.
Humphries has still played brilliantly as of late, but it has to be said that he was playing better before he switched his song.
I Predict a Riot may be more of a crowd-pleaser, but the World Champion’s game may be affected by the added noise and boistrousness in the crowd when he plays.
