Chris Mason has called for negative news outlets to be banned from PDC events after Luke Littler received criticism after his European Championship loss to Andrew Gilding.
Luke Littler was subject to many outlets firing shots at the teenager for losing against a ‘former butcher’ after his loss to 2023 UK Open winner Gilding.
Mason has slammed the likes of The Daily Mail, The Sun, and The Star for their negative articles about The Nuke and doesn’t want to see them at events.

Chris Mason wants The Mail and The Sun banned from PDC events
The two-time BDO World Championship semi-finalist has had enough of the ‘counterproductive’ criticism toward The Nuke and wants the PDC to shut the media outlets out of events.
Speaking to Online Darts, Mason said: “I’d ban them. It’s counterproductive, it’s doing our sport no favours at all, coming out with all the s**** that’s on the Mail Online and in The Sun and The Star.
What are them people doing anywhere near our sport? They would throw you under the bus just for a bit of clickbaity b*******.”
Littler has crashed out of three major tournaments at the first round stage in 2024 at the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, and European Championship.
Gary Anderson slams media for Luke Littler attention
Mason isn’t the only person to speak out about the way the media deal with Littler.
During the 17-year-old’s superb run to the World Championship finals, Gary Anderson blasted the media for overhyping the teenager.
In a press conference, the former World Champion said: “If it goes tits up with Luke, give yourselves a pat on the back”
“Let the boy play darts. I’ve been downstairs and he’s got cameras, zoom calls, meetings…Let the boy play darts.
“He’s had a great tournament, he’s done well. What if it all goes Pete Tong now? You boys have ruined that. Let the boy play darts.
“He’s 16 years old and playing well, just like Josh Rock. Fantastic player, but you have knocked him back about two to three years.”
Littler has won five televised titles in his debut year, including his first major with the Premier League.
