The World Championship draw has officially been made and, as usual, it’s served up some potential corkers for the second round.
The top 32 receive a bye to the Alexandra Palace events’ second round as the next 32 play qualifiers in the first round.
There were plenty of talking points after the draw, but a potential meeting between Luke Littler and Fallon Sherrock has caused a stir on social media.

Fans buzzing over potential Luke Littler vs Fallon Sherrock match
Sherrock will play Ryan Meikle in the first round with the winner playing last year’s finalist Littler.
Fans are hoping to see The Queen of the Palace tackle the teenager at Ally Pally in a battle of the two media darlings.
On X, one fan wrote: “All I want for Christmas is Littler vs Sherrock in R2” and another said: “Littler vs Sherrock is the PDC dream match!”
Another wrote: “Potentially Fallon Sherrock v Luke Littler. The media could actually self-combust!” and one said: “If that happens the internet and Sky will go absolutely bananas.”
Sherrock became the first woman to win a match at the World Championship in 2019, defeating Ted Evetts 3-2 in the first round.
Littler, meanwhile, burst onto the darts scene with his performances at the 2024 World Championship. The two players have never played each other on the PDC Tour before.
What other World Championship ties stand out?
With its unconventional format, it’s always difficult to prediction which players could make it to the second round for the big-money match-ups.
Cameron Menzies has a very big chance of setting up an exciting showcase with Nathan Aspinall in the second round should he beat Leonard Gates.
Likewise, Jermaine Wattimena could set up a tie with James Wade if he gets the better of Swiss thrower Stefan Bellmont.
The World Championship begins on December 15 at Alexandra Palace.
