Darts is a very simple game in a lot of ways. You throw arrows at a board and whoever scores 501 points first, checking out on a double, wins.
However, as anyone who has ever tried to play darts can attest to, it’s not easy.
Indeed, while this game may look simple, it’s about a lot more than just aiming and throwing. It’s about rhythm, confidence, adaptation and handling immense pressure.
Some of the best technical players in the world have never managed to win big events. The likes of Jeffrey De Zwaan and Ian White have some of the best technical throws in the game, but, for one reason or another, they can’t put it all together.
Speaking on the Love The Darts Podcast, Glen Durrant has been discussing who he believes has the best throw in darts today, and interesting, the pundit stated that Beau Greaves has the best throw in the world at the moment.

Beau Greaves has the best throw in darts
Durrant stated that Greaves has the best throw in darts ahead of the likes of Luke Littler and Michael Smith.
“I wanted Beau Greaves who is the best female player I’ve seen. Her throw is the best in the world, for someone who had dartitis, when she’s in full flow she’s as good as anything,” Durrant said.
Beau Greaves could be a major contender
Five years on from Fallon Sherrock’s breakthrough performance at the World Championships, Beau Greaves could be the first female to actually challenge for a PDC major.
As Durrant says, Greaves has arguably the best throw in the game today, and, on her day, she’s almost unbeatable.
Greaves averaged over 114 in a match earlier this year, leading to Wayne Mardle describing her as a ‘special’ player.
Unfortunately, Greaves has already decided that she won’t be playing in the World Championships this year.
“I will go Lakeside [to the WDF World Championship],’ Greaves said.
“It’s a really tough decision to make when you think of the opportunities and stuff but being back-to-back defending champion is a hard one to knock on the head.”
Greaves added: “I’m quite content with the WDF. I think they’re not perfect, but nobody is, and I would hate to miss it and think I could’ve got three in a row.
“I’m sure eventually I will make it back to Ally Pally and try and win a game.”
Greaves has the talent to play against the best of them, and it wouldn’t be a surprise at all if she eventually became the first woman to win a PDC televised major.
