Darts comes in many formats.
Leg play, set play, TV events, floor events and the Euro tour all pose different challenges for each and every player in the PDC and beyond.
However, perhaps the most natural form of the game is played on the exhibition circuit.
Indeed, these uncompetitive stages are often a lot of fun, and when players can relax on stage, they often produce their best stuff.
Speaking on the Love the Darts Podcast, Glen Durrant has been discussing some of the recent matches on the exhibition circuit, and he says that Gerwyn Price has really excelleed on that stage as of late, claiming that he would be unbeatable if he could bring that form to the TV events.

Gerwyn Price is playing incredibly in exhibitions
Durrant spoke about the recent showings on the exhibition circuit.
“Yeah no, no dart player ever goes into a match trying to lose a game and in those exhibitions, they’re big crowds. Three, four, five thousand. The dart galas in Germany there are 12,000 there. None of the players are up there to lose the game. I think Gezzy Price in an exhibition, if he could transfer that skill onto there he would be unbeatable,” Durrant said.
Gerwyn Price can be unbeatable
Durrant says that Price could be unplayable if he managed to transfer his exhibition game over to the stage, and we can see where he’s coming from.
It’s not a coincidence that the one time the PDC World Championships were played behind closed doors Price became the champion.
When he’s allowed to just focus on his own game and he doesn’t let the crowd distract him, Price may be the best player in the world, but far too often in recent years he’s let his Pantomime villain status overawe his overall game and that’s led to missed doubles and a slip in his averages.
