Dave Chisnall lifted the European Darts Open last night but used his post-match interview to upset Scotland fans after their Euros misery.
‘Chizzy’ lifted his seventh Euro Tour title of his career by beating Ross Smith in the final in Leverkusen.
Euro 2024 is currently taking place in Germany and darts crowds throughout the weekend have seen a large proportion of travelling Scottish and English fans.
England have one foot into the knockout stages of the football tournament, but Scotland suffered last-minute heartbreak at the Euros whilst the darts final was concluding.
Rather than show sympathy, the champion in Germany used the opportunity to rub salt in Scottish wounds.

Chisnall unsympathetic after Scotland Euros heartbreak
England and Scotland have long been rivals in sports and the St Helens superstar did not hold back after lifting the trophy.
Moments after the ‘Tartan Army’ conceded a 100th minute winner to end their Euro 2024 campaign, Chisnall grabbed the microphone live on PDC.TV to conduct the orchestra.
He said: “All I can say is ‘Scotland get battered, everywhere they go’”.
That one line from the 43-year-old kickstarted the choir of the packed out Leverkusen crowd.
Chisnall may regret joke if Premier League beckons
Fortunately for Chisnall, few PDC events travel north of the border so he may escape Scottish wrath.
The exceptions are Premier League nights in Aberdeen and Glasgow, but ‘Chizzy’ will be hoping it’s a problem he encounters.
The former Premier League semi-finalist hasn’t appeared in the event since 2017 but if he continues his form from this weekend, he could force his way into the elite line-up.
The win in Germany lifted Chisnall to world number seven.
If he can win a few more Pro Tour titles in 2024 combined with a deep major run, we could see his famous yellow shirt on the Premier League roadshow once again.
