Luke Humphries has arguably the most eye-catching throw in darts.
His silky smooth action lends itself to rapid power-scoring which has helped him capture six majors inside 12 months.
Former World Cup Champion Damon Heta admitted ‘Cool Hand’s’ throw made him ‘sick’ and a ‘little bit jealous’ as the Aussie is more methodical at the oche.
Despite lauding the World Champion’s action, he awarded another player the number one spot when asked to rate his peers’ throws on Instagram by PDC Europe.

One title Luke Humphries cannot win
Humphries has won six out of the last nine majors, including the coveted World Championship and World Matchplay.
He failed to take the number one spot in Heta’s list, however, as ‘The Heat’ awarded the top spot to Chris Dobey.
On ‘Hollywood’, Heta said: “Oh I love him; I’m putting him number one, he’s the man.”
Dobey’s action is uncomplicated, and he broke down the mechanics of his throw to PDC Europe on YouTube last year.
A good throw is a vital attribute for longevity
Accurate replication is imperative for consistency and longevity in darts.
It is no coincidence that the likes of Steve Beaton, Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld all have uncomplicated actions that they can replicate with ease.
That’s not to say a player cannot find success with an elaborate throw, but it creates another obstacle for a player.
Dave Chisnall is a prime example.
‘Chizzy’ has immense ability and has won a host of titles over his long career, but his snatchy action has led to inconsistencies which have held him back from winning a TV major.
Heta did not get the chance to rate his own throw, but it’s one of the best on the circuit.
It’s simple, smooth and often effective, though his pace can vary.
His action has helped him to number nine in the world and many expect the 37-year-old to land his first ranking major in the next few years.
