When is the 2025 World Darts Championships draw? Date, start time, and how it works as Luke Littler finds out his fate

The World Championship is less than a month away and the 96 competitors await their fate at the draw kicks off all of the action.

The World Championship is the biggest date in the darting calendar and fans and pundits alike descend to Alexandra Palace to see the biggest players in the sport.

Last year, Luke Littler burst onto the scene to reach the final of the event at the age of 16. Stories are always made at the World Championship and the draw is the start of it all.

Here is everything you need to know about the World Championship draw.

When does the World Championship draw take place?

The World Darts Championship draw takes place on Monday, November 25, just 20 days before all the action kicks off.

The draw stars from 4.30pm with Emma Paton and Wayne Mardle are expected to host the draw.

How can I watch the World Championship draw?

The World Championship draw will be broadcast on Sky Sports News, meaning it’s free to watch on both Freeview TV and YouTube.

How does the World Championship draw work?

96 players qualify for the World Championship at Alexandra Palace, but the PDC Order of Merit top 32 gain byes to the second-round.

That means the likes of Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, and Rob Cross will not play until December 21 at the earliest.

This leaves the next 32 highest-ranked players from the PDC Tour Order of Merit to play 32 qualifiers from around the world.

As things stand, prior to the Players Championship Finals, the likes of Raymond van Barneveld, Brendan Dolan, and Krzysztof Ratajski will squeeze in as seeds.

European Championship finalist Jermaine Wattimena and Grand Slam of Darts finalist Martin Lukeman are currently sat outside the top 32, meaning they’ll face a qualifier in the opening round.

When does the World Championship start?

The World Championship begins on December 15 and runs through until January 3 when the final takes place.

Afternoon and evening sessions will take place every day, except December 24, 25, and 26, until the day of the final on January 3.

The entire event is broadcast on Sky Sports Darts as the biggest darts event of the year caps the end of 2024 and the start of 2025.
