17-year-old Littler is looking to add to his World Series titles in Bahrain and Poland this term and he goes into the tournament as one of the favourites.

Luke Littler ‘doesn’t feel pressure’

During ITV’s coverage of the Australian event, Mark Webster hailed Littler’s ability to bounce back from defeat.

Speaking about whether the World Championship finalist feels the pressure, Webster said: “I don’t think he does. He got put in the Premier League and was obviously questioned. ‘It’s too early.’

“He goes and wins it. Clearly for me, he doesn’t feel the pressure when he has a little setback. Believe it or not, he does get beat.

“He is good, but when he does get beat he recovers in the next game Like I said, a 17 year old and he is already the complete package.”

This praise follows Wayne Mardle’s comments on Littler. The pundit recently compared the teenager with four legendary darts players.

Luke Littler is bang in form heading Down Under

Luke Littler is in the top five of the PDC’s form guide as he heads to Wollongong to claim the top prize. Based on his last 200 legs played, Littler is averaging 97.53 and has hit 87 scores of 171 or higher.

The Nuke has also hit 39.48% of his darts at double. The only players throwing better darts currently are Luke Humphries, Ross Smith and Mike De Decker.

With only Humphries from those four in the Australian tournament, Littler has to be considered one of the favourites to take the Aussie crown.
