Fans stunned by Gian Van Veen’s performance against Ryan Joyce
Van Veen won every game of his tough group stage against Stephen Bunting, Josh Rock, and Wessel Nijman and he continued his blistering form against Joyce.
Fans couldn’t believe what they were seeing from the Dutchman. On X, one fan wrote: “Van Veen might win the whole event” while another said: “Van Veen has hit a completely new level this tournament.”
Another said: “Gian Van Veen will win a major within a year (it might even be this one). He’s class!” and one said: “Gian Van Veen – what a player!”
Van Veen plays either Bunting or Gary Anderson in the quarterfinals of the Wolverhampton event as he looks to claim his first-ever major title.
Gian Van Veen could win the Grand Slam
The stats suggest Van Veen has every chance to claim his first-ever major tournament at the Grand Slam of Darts.
The Dutchman has a tournament average of over 108 and has dropped just eleven legs in four matches against the World No. 10, 15, 62, 25.
He took just 20 minutes to beat Joyce, a World Grand Prix semi-final this year. If he continues his stunning form, he has every right to claim the title.
